Today, over 1,100 troops and 100 vehicles of the Armed Forces structures concentrated along the national roads Fier-Levan-Kakavija-Tepelenë-Gjirokastra. The Armed Forces operation, for the litter collection in these roads, was followed closely by the Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo. They stopped at the border crossing point in Kakavija, where troops and vehicles were engaged for the litter collection in this road segment and surrounding territory.

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli emphasized that, we are at the end of this national huge action for litter collection. Today, we had the support of local government, State Police and other institutions of civil society. In this context, Minister Kodheli especially thanked the media and columnists for the support they have given during these days for the awareness of what we wanted to achieve at the end of this action: so that Albania, our country, might be clean. She also thanked the 1,100 troops of the Armed Forces, part of today’s action. “This country needs projects, but also to strengthen more sanctions and spirit of rebuke, to increase general opinion and everyone’s action”, - highlighted Defence Minister Kodheli.

Minister Kodheli also stopped at the road segment near Uji i Ftohtë-Tepelenë, where the situation was quite problematic. She also encouraged the troops committed to avoiding the aggravated environmental situation and asked to the relevant institutions of local government to avoid such situations in the future. Over 1,100 troops and 100 vehicles of our Armed Forces were committed today, making possible the clearance of 127 km of roads and the transportation of the collected wastes towards the collection sites.
