Minister Xhaçka praised the military doctors: Your work has been an extraordinary contribution

At least 120 doctors and nurses of various specialties, part of the Armed Forces, gave their extraordinary contribution in the midst of this pandemic. Military doctors and nurses at the Trauma Hospital were at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19, identifying new cases of infection.

Since March, the Armed Forces set up triage tents outside the Trauma Hospital where after preliminary checks they detected patients with COVID-19 before being hospitalized.

Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, meeting with the AAF servicemen praised the military and civil medical staff all across the country for their untiring and humane work during this challenging period.

“Thanks, and congratulations to everyone for the excellent work you have done. Thanks to your work and that of medical professionals in all healthcare facilities, the worst-case scenarios of this pandemic have been avoided.
I know it was very tough for all of you, but our attention, the government’s, the MoD’s and the Ministry of Health’s one, was to making every effort to guarantee all precautions in the workplace and fortunately we have not had any problems.
One thing is certain, with your extraordinary work, the courage and professionalism that characterize everyone, you managed to better prevent other problems that we could have had, from the triage tents to the hospital where the process continues." - said Minister Xhaçka.

There are 120 military doctors and nurses of various specialties serving in the Trauma Hospital, while the Military Medical Unit remains on standby for any emergency, wherever it may be requested.
